H.E. Minister Abdusalam H. Omer addressed the High-level meeting to address large movements of refugees and migrants at the 71st UN General Assembly in New York.

In his statements, Minister Omer shared Somalia’s experiences of conflict, refugees and the practical solutions that have and can be adopted to address these key issues. Minister Abdusalam urged the international community to invest in peacebuilding and economic development as a means of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and addressing the root causes of large movements of refugees and migrants and their vulnerabilities.
