Mr. Ali Abdi Ali Hoshow was born in the agricultural town of Jilib in the Middle Juba region of southern Somalia. He is a university graduate and a master’s degree candidate. He held many positions in the local and international media. He worked in the Ministry of Information of the Transitional National Government (TNG) of the Somali Republic as editor and general coordinator of the state radio (Radio Mogadishu, Voice of the Somali Republic) and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in 20 June 2011 and he was appointed at that time as a new head of the press and public relations section (PRR), and he has a great success story in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in the corridors of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
On June 6, 2021, he was promoted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud, to the new Director of the Communication and Information Technology Department (CIT).
The Director has multiple tasks including follow-up, monitoring, writing updates, activities, publishing and issuing press releases on foreign policy (Somali, Arabic and English), issuing the diplomatic magazine, public diplomacy, cultural diplomacy and technology. He leads two media and technical teams specializing in production and information technology and also manages all social media accounts and pages for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Republic of Somalia as well.
