Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The Acting Foreign Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Balal Mohamed Cusman, met on Tuesday (14 June) in his office at the Ministry, some of the heads of Somali diplomatic missions and charge d’affaires, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Mohamud Abdi Hassan (Pekos) and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, H.E. Amb. Mohamed Ali-Nur Hagi.
Several issues were discussed in the meeting, including raising the level of consular services, coordination, politics and security, and achieving gains in international and regional forums, while standing firm against any violations that affect the nation’s higher interests, national security, territorial integrity and sovereignty. The digitization of services and the restoration of some buildings for Somali embassies, as well as the construction of new buildings for missions that own plots of land, were also discussed.
The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation commended the ambassadors present at the meeting for their interaction in the constructive dialogues and positive deliberations, considering that this meeting is a first step, stressing his confidence in the determination of the meeting attendees to work with confidence, steadfastness and determination to make great achievements.
