The Government and People of the Federal Republic of Somalia condemn the heinous and unforgiveable attack on the AMISOM soldiers by the terrorist Group Al Shabaab at their El-Ade base yesterday. We especially recognize and share the painful loss of the People and Government of Kenya whose sons and daughters in uniform bravely came to return hope and stability to Somalia. We salute the KDF for their efforts and mourn their loss.
We pay tribute to the courage, commitment and sacrifice of AMISOM and the Somali National Army whose combined dedication and efforts has made progress in all its forms possible again in Somalia.
We express our deepest condolences to the families, friends and loved ones of those courageous soldiers who paid the ultimate price protecting our innocent civilians and strengthening institutions as well as safeguarding our progress against the evil that is terrorism. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten and nor will it be in vain.
The Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia will not be deterred from achieving its ambitions of peace, progress and prosperity for its entire people and the wider region by the cowardly and criminal acts of those who hide behind a bankrupted and fraudulent interpretation of our beautiful Islamic religion.
Through the continuing concerted and valiant efforts of AMISOM and the Somali National Army, we will ensure the sacrifice of our brothers and sisters will not be in vain. We will defeat Al Shabaab and make Somalia and the entire region safe and prosperous for all our brotherly people.
The Somali National Army and AMISOM will continue with their joint operations until every inch of Somalia is liberated from Al Shabaab and our people can be free to achieve their ambitions in peace and freedom.
From the tragedies the world witnessed recently take place in Paris, Istanbul, Jakarta and Ougadugo, we know terrorism is one of the greatest challenges the world faces today. We must defeat this evil collectively for a safer, progressive and prosperous world.
